Volunteers are critical to the success of community theatre in Australia and Hunters Hill Theatre is no exception.
"Without volunteers and some generous sponsors and advertisers, we wouldn't exist. Most jobs are simple and require minimal time commitments, however with an army of volunteers, we can do amazing things" - President Chrissie McIntyre.
Hunters Hill Theatre is well and truly settled in Ryde having turned Level 2 of Club Ryde Ex into a very intimate theatre with seating for 108 patrons, and the current committee is keen to hear from anyone who has some spare time and is keen to find a new outlet/hobby!

PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS We are always on the lookout for production help – whether it is swinging a hammer, painting a set or helping backstage during a show. LIGHTING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT We operate a full lighting desk as well as using QLab for our shows. If you are willing to learn, we will train you. SET PAINTERS With every new show, comes a new set to be painted. You don’t have to be Picasso, you just need to be willing to wield a brush. The painting is usually fairly simple and we’ll show you what needs to be done. |
CARPENTERS We always need people to help construct sets. Whether you're qualified or just interested in building, we are always looking for help! COSTUMES Can you sew? Are you creative? Do you enjoy transforming things into something different and new? MARKETING With each new play comes a busy promotion schedule, whether its keeping our social media channels up to date, inviting critics to opening night or having a chat with the local community radio station. |
We can guarantee you will have fun and make some great new friends and the tea and biscuits are on us!
